Terroir:
Envínate Albahra comes from the Almansa region in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The vineyards are located at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level. The soil is predominantly clay and calcareous, which contributes to the wine's structure and minerality.
Viticulture:
The grapes are organically and sustainably farmed. The blend includes Garnacha Tintorera (also known as Alicante Bouschet) and Moravia Agria, a rare local grape variety. These practices ensure minimal intervention and promote biodiversity in the vineyards.
Winemaking:
The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using natural yeasts. Garnacha Tintorera is foot-trodden in vats with 30-50% stems included and undergoes 6-10 days of skin maceration. The wine is aged in concrete tanks, which helps preserve the freshness and purity of the fruit flavors.
Tasting Notes:
Envínate Albahra is a vibrant and expressive wine with fresh red and black fruit aromas, including cherries and raspberries. It has floral notes and hints of pepper and rose. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a mineral backbone. The finish is long and balanced, making it an excellent companion for a variety of dishes​
